You visit Sri Lanka’s famous UNESCO World Heritage sites in the ancient capitals of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, and the fortress rock of Sigiriya. In Anuradhapura, you can see the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, a tree with a known planting date that is over 2,300 years old. In Polonnaruwa, you explore stone-carved temples and royal ruins. In Sigiriya, you climb the Lion Rock for wide jungle views. You then travel to Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage city, home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic and living dance traditions. Enjoy a safari evening to see wild elephants (seasonal and best in the dry months), then finish with a relaxed time in Colombo before you fly home.

About Sigiriya Lion’s Rock:

An ancient palace built on top of a massive rock in the 5th century. The climb takes you past beautiful paintings, mirror walls, and giant lion paws to reach the summit with amazing jungle views.

About Minneriya National Park:
